Biography

Dr. Robin “Rob” Weinstein is a Professor of Business at Â鶹ÊÓƵ, where he is Chairman of Human Resource Management Studies and previously served as the elected Chair of the Faculty Senate. He is an adjunct faculty member of Eastern University and the Rowan College of Southern New Jersey.

Dr. Robin “Rob” Weinstein is an altruistic, high-impact, positive change agent, and thought leader who envisions integrated solutions for the ‘greater good’ across community + society + education + the workplace through a 360-degree perspective. Those who know Robin would say he is an ‘out-of-the-box’ philosopher and stirring orator [with a dose of humor] who is characterized by inspiring energy that makes everyone want to ACHIEVE, BECOME, and GIVE more!

Named by The Press of Atlantic City in 2016 as one of the ten “MOVERS AND SHAKERS OF SOUTH JERSEY” and one of the “17 TO WATCH IN 2017,” Dr. Weinstein is recognized as a true believer in human potential and gifted at harnessing that latent power through all of his personal and career endeavors. 

Dr. Weinstein is a graduate of Eastern University with a Bachelor of Arts in Justice, Law & Society. During his time at Eastern University he held a number of leadership roles, including Student Government President in which he spearheaded a campaign to make the university more environmentally friendly by convincing the students and administration to purchase renewable energy.

Dr. Weinstein earned a Masters of Theological Studies in Faith and Public Policy from the Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary (now Palmer Theological Seminary). As the first Wilberforce Public Policy Research Scholar at the Sider Center, Dr. Weinstein acted as a principal researcher to revise widely read social justice publications such as Rich Christians in an Age of Hunger and Just Generosity: A New Vision for Overcoming Poverty in America.

Dr. Weinstein earned his Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership (Ed.D.) from Â鶹ÊÓƵ. He holds professional certifications from the Society for Human Resource Management and the Human Resource Certification Institute, along with professional certificates from the Cornell University School for Industrial and Labor Relations.

Dr. Weinstein has taught a variety of courses ranging from human resource management, business management, leadership, ethics, philosophy, biblical & theological studies, as well as political science. He completed his doctoral research in May 2011 with his dissertation that examined the relationship between servant leadership attributes and faith development among governmental leaders.

As Founder and Past President of the M25 Initiative, Dr. Weinstein has worked to engage, equip, empower, and mobilize individuals and organizations in Cumberland County, NJ, to employ innovative and cooperative solutions to alleviate suffering, feed the hungry, end poverty, reduce crime, revitalize a spirit community, and transform lives. Under his leadership, the M25 Initiative raised over $1.1 million in funding to assist Cumberland County’s hungry and homeless residents. He was the co-founder of the Cumberland County Code Blue Coalition and the founder of the Cumberland County Housing First Collaborative, which addresses the plight of homelessness through community engagement, grassroots activism, and innovative partnerships. The Collaborative has provided supportive housing to over 100 individuals who were chronically homeless, and the Code Blue Program has become a model for the statewide legislation requiring emergency winter to those experiencing homelessness. 

Dr. Weinstein is also an ordained minister and serves as the founding pastor of Bethany Grace Community Church in Bridgeton, New Jersey, where he has served since 2005. Through his mobilizing pastoral services, he and his church have innovatively addressed dire community needs with great success, resulting in the adoption of effective solutions applied throughout the region. He empowers his parishioners to make a positive difference in the world by putting faith into action. Under his leadership, the church has started a weekly soup kitchen, monthly food pantry and clothing closet, showers for the homeless, and many other programs that foster the blend of Good New & Good Works.

Dr. Weinstein is a member of the Board of Directors for Gateway Community Action Partnership and a member of the Bridgeton Rotary Lunch Club. He is also currently serving as a member of the Regional Community Advisory Board (Southern) for the Rutgers Institute for Health, Health Care Policy and Aging Research (IFH) at Rutgers University-New Brunswick. He has formerly served as Chairman of the United Way of Salem County Board of Directors and Chairman for the Eastern University Academy Charter School Board of Trustees. He was a member of the Cumberland County Board of Social Services, Fundraising Committee for the Lourdes Hospital Foundation Board, among many other community-centered activities. He serves on numerous educational advisory boards.

Dr. Weinstein currently serves as a Consultant with the Padilla Group LLC and Senior Consultant with Trinity Human Resources Consulting LLC. He has previously served as a member of the Advisory Council for ED2WORK Solutions LLC. He served as the Deputy County Administrator for the County of Salem for approximately six years overseeing a range of fiscal, operational, and policy functions. He has previously worked in the New Jersey Legislature and the United States Senate.

He is the recipient of the 2020 Greater Bridgeton Chamber of Commerce Gary Simmerman Community Leadership Award, 2019 Social Service Partner of the Year Award by the Puerto Rican Action Committee of Southern New Jersey, Bridgeton Lion’s Club Bernie Fralinger Memorial Outstanding Citizen of the Year 2019 Award, Rutgers University Senator Walter Rand Institute for Public Affairs 2018 Walter and Leah Rand South Jerseyan of the Year for the Nonprofit Sector, 2018 Cumberland County Hometown Heroes Award, 2017 Golden Book of Deeds Award by the Greater Bridgeton Exchange Club, 2017 Greater Bridgeton Rotary Service Above Self Award, 2016 Cumberland County Bar Association Liberty Bell Award, and the 2015 NAACP of Cumberland County Freedom Fund Award. He was also the recipient of the Eastern University Student Body Award and Faculty Achievement Award (2003).

Dr. Weinstein is recognized as a true believer in human potential and gifted at harnessing that latent power through all his personal and career endeavors. He believes in uniting people to achieve amazing things and this conviction sustains the courage to tackle the most entrenched problems through the loving integration of faith, reason, and justice.

He resides in Upper Deerfield Township and was raised in Bridgeton, New Jersey.
