Biography

Dr. Ruth Norman is a Professor at Â鶹ÊÓƵ and played a key role in the founding of the Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) program.  She currently instructs three DBA courses: innovation, advanced marketing seminar, and research seminar.  Other courses Dr. Norman has taught include ethics, strategy, executive decision-making, disciplined inquiry, research design, global business and organizational behavior.  She has served as dissertation committee chair for over 60 DBA graduates. 

Prior to joining Â鶹ÊÓƵ, Dr. Norman taught at the University of Delaware, Sarajevo (Bosnia) Graduate School of Business, and Argosy University.  She served as Worldwide Director of Marketing in the Resins Division at Hercules.  She also held executive, marketing, planning, and R & D positions at Simplica, Delmarva Power & Light, Scott Paper Company, and ICI Americas.  She earned a Ph.D. in Political Science and International Relations, an MBA and a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Delaware. 

Dr. Norman is married to her husband, John; she has a daughter, Pam, who is married and living in North Carolina and a son, Matt, who lives in Pennsylvania.  She enjoys traveling, tennis, gardening, bridge and playing the piano.
