Biography
Dr. Jacqueline Mainwaring is a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) with extensive clinical and academic experience. She currently serves as the Associate Professor and Director of the Delaware Nurse Anesthesiology Program at ChristianaCare and Â鶹ÊÓƵ. She also maintains a clinical practice with Anesthesia Services, P.A. at ChristianaCare. Dr. Mainwaring is deeply committed to advocacy and professional service, particularly in advancing the role and practice of nurse anesthetists. Her research interests include stress and burnout among nurse anesthesia residents, cultural humility in nursing education, and innovative approaches to anesthesia training.
She has held numerous leadership positions, including Vice President of the Delaware Board of Nursing, Chair of the Government Relations Committee for the Delaware Association of Nurse Anesthetists (DANA), and former President of DANA. In these roles, she has been instrumental in influencing legislative changes, including successfully advocating for full practice authority for APRNs in Delaware. Additionally, Dr. Mainwaring contributes her expertise as a peer reviewer for several journals and serves on the advisory panel for the Journal of Nurse Anesthesia Education.
Her work in professional organizations reflects her dedication to the nursing profession, emphasizing the importance of continuous learning, professional development, and policy advocacy to enhance the practice of CRNAs. As a Certified Nurse Educator, Dr. Mainwaring is passionate about mentoring and educating the next generation of CRNAs. She ensures that her graduates are well-prepared to be clinical experts and leaders in their field, providing high-quality anesthesia care.
