Biography

Dr. Julie Rollins is an Assistant Professor in the College of Health Professions and Natural Sciences' Nurse Practitioner program. Previously, Dr. Rollins has taught in the undergraduate nursing and health sciences programs and has been an active adjunct professor since 2015. She is also an active preceptor and frequently precepts students in her specialty clinic setting. She has maintained an active clinical practice as a Family Nurse Practitioner since 2012 in varying capacities but specializes in allergy, asthma, immunology, otolaryngology, and aesthetics. Dr. Rollins is nationally board certified through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). 

Dr. Rollins is a Sussex County, DE native who graduated with a Bachelor of Nursing Science from Salisbury University in 2009, a Master of Nursing Science from Â鶹ÊÓƵ in 2012, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Â鶹ÊÓƵ in 2020. Her doctoral project entitled “Development and Evaluation of a Nurse Practitioner- Directed Asthma Control Test Protocol in a Rural Allergy and Asthma Clinic" focused on process improvement within the clinic setting with an emphasis on identifying uncontrolled asthmatics during allergen immunotherapy appointments. She continues to have a passion for family-centered, appropriate care across the lifespan. Her research and clinical interests include diagnosis and management of food allergies, eosinophilic esophagitis, atopic dermatitis, allergic rhinitis, and asthma. Dr. Rollins is a member of the American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology, the Delaware Coalition of Nurse Practitioners, and Sigma Theta Tau.

In her spare time, Dr. Rollins enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons. They enjoy an active lifestyle in Southern Delaware.
