Circulation and Interlibrary Loan Policy

Borrowing privileges are extended to all Â鶹ÊÓƵ students registered for current sessions at all sites. Alumni, faculty, and staff members of Â鶹ÊÓƵ have borrowing privileges also. Alumni need to complete an application for borrowing which must be processed by Circulation Department before a library card can be issued.

Students must present a Â鶹ÊÓƵ photo ID or State Issued ID when checking out materials. Students are responsible for all items charged to their library card.

All circulating material must be charged out at the Information Desk with a valid Â鶹ÊÓƵ photo ID. Books circulate for a period of three (3) weeks. It is the borrower’s responsibility to know when the book is due. Books may be renewed by telephone, in person, or online through the Delaware Library Catalog.

Books and library materials placed on Reserve are kept behind the Information Desk. As per the request of the faculty members, items may be used in the library only, overnight, three (3) days, or seven (7) days. Circulating reserve items may be renewed if no one else has requested them.

Overdue fines for normal three-week loan items are .10 cents per day. Overdue fines for reserve materials, Interlibrary Loan materials, DVDs and Videos are $1.00 per day/per item. The maximum overdue fine which can be incurred is $5.00. Interlibrary Loan materials can be renewed online through the ILLiad system.

If an item is lost or damaged, the borrower is charged a $5.00 overdue fee in addition to a replacement cost for the item and a processing charge. Library fines must be paid before a student can register for classes, be cleared for graduation, or request a transcript. Students owing $10.00 or more may be blocked from checking out library materials until payment has been made.
