Mental Health Support Services

The Office of Student Concerns is committed to helping students manage their mental, physical, and emotional well-being as they experience the academic rigors of college-level learning. A team of caring people provides various mental health resources for all students in a confidential, responsive, and respectful environment. In addition, the Office provides resources during emergencies and crises and implements interventions if students display inappropriate behaviors.

Mental Health Services

Mental health is a vital part of an individual's overall health. Brief screenings are the quickest way to determine if you or someone you care about should connect with a mental health professional. This program is completely anonymous and confidential, and immediately after submitting the brief questionnaire, you will see your results, recommendations, and critical resources. This screening also includes an alcohol use and substance use component, as these can play a significant role in mental health.

Problem Gambling

While gambling may be a social activity for some, others may struggle with establishing healthy boundaries or limits. For additional support, below are national problem gambling resources that may be useful:

  • is an organization that helps individuals recover from gambling problems.
  • The National Council on Problem Gambling offers a 24/7 100% confidential helpline 1 (800) 522-4700, text services as well as through their website. This hotline connects callers to local health and government organizations and also offers a comprehensive list of resources that can help an individual with gambling addiction.
  • Those with a gambling addiction may also battle substance abuse issues and be at risk of suicide. As such, they can call the National Drug Helpline at 1 (888) 633-3239 or the National Suicide Prevention Line at 1 (800) 273-8255.

Allied Behavioral Health is a multidisciplinary group practice serving the Bear, Glasgow, Newark, Middletown and Wilmington areas.

Catholic Charities offers a behavioral health program consisting of multiple services for individuals needing help with emotional, behavioral, or mental health services. Catholic Charities provides counseling services to anyone for whom outpatient treatment is the right choice.

Christiana Counseling is a multi-specialty, mental health and addictions practice. The practice has professional trainers, licensed clinical social workers, and professional counselors of mental health who provide a spectrum of outpatient services to individuals of all ages.
