Pathways to Instructional Excellence

Overview about Pathways to Instructional Excellence

The Pathways to Instructional Excellence (PIE) guides WilmU instructors through a competency-based curriculum, leading them to become more accomplished instructors that are better able to teach WilmU students. Professional development at Â鶹ÊÓƵ offers personalization to allow you to choose any of the electives in the Pathways program. You may choose to take any elective in any order, you don't have to complete the electives in any sequence.

Professional Development for faculty is brought to you by several departments at Â鶹ÊÓƵ: Library, The Center for Teaching Excellence, and Online Learning & Ed Tech.

Register for Faculty Training in the WilmU Learning Center

To register for workshops, you must first login to the WilmU Learning Center, use your WilmU login credentials

You may search in the PIE catalog for PIE events, or you may review our self-paced catalog if you want to complete training "on your own time and pace" in a Canvas course. We also offer webinars in Zoom. Upon registration, you will receive email notification of the guest links to join a Zoom webinar. If you need assistance or have questions about PIE, please email learningcenter@wilmu.edu

PIE is organized into 4 competency levels:

  1. Essential
  2. Proficient
  3. Mastery
  4. Exemplary
